Welcome

Hi. I’m Casey M. Ball, and I’m so glad you’re here.

This is the beginning of something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time—a space to share not just the stories I write, but the thoughts, fragments, struggles, and quiet victories that come with being a writer, a creator, and a person who’s still learning to live with both joy and grief in the same breath.

For those who don’t know me, I’m an author, a software developer, a musician, a yarn hoarder, and a relentless builder of things. I write fantasy, horror, mystery, and sci-fi—stories with a psychological spine, stories about loss and survival, memory and identity, and the strange, subtle ways we change over time. My debut novel, The Shadow, was born from something deeply personal: the stroke I had when I was seventeen. It took me seven years to be able to write about that experience—not directly, but in the way it reshaped how I see the world, and how I write about it.

This blog is a place for everything that doesn’t quite fit in a book: behind-the-scenes looks at my creative process, reflections, musings on storytelling, and probably more than a few posts about my pets (Dilly the boxer-bulldog and Kitty the cat) because they’re part of my story too.

Whether you’re a reader, a fellow writer, a curious passerby, or someone who's just looking for a place that values honesty, creativity, and emotional depth—I hope you find something here that resonates.

Thank you for being part of this.

Let’s see what we can create together.
